woke up at 4 a.m. last night, wandered into the dim living room, and meandered around the work of these diverse photographers for about an hour-- kind of like staying dreaming.
Joel Grey, promoted this morning by VSL (my fave). artist of evocative visual moments.
I've started meeting a couple of new maybe-friends through my most recent cl gambit, and so far the water's fine.
I regret that these don't even begin to capture how beautiful it is here tonight...

I went with these folks. I've wanted to go on one of the urban explorer adventures for months and finally got myself in gear this week. so glad. and I already want to go back, as there were several shots I took that turned out out of focus and I want to re-shoot.
I'm learning things about myself as a photographer/person: A) I am not patient. if I can grab it and go, great-- can't stand monkeying around with settings and therefore will never be a Real Photographer. also I'm fine with this. B) I've always had this weird subjective preference toward bleached-out images-- it was first brought to my attention in the one and only film darkroom class I took eons ago-- I have to super duper push myself to push the contrast. evidently I'm a sucker for when things get all hazed out by glare. love it. just love it. C) decay is more beautiful to me than almost anything I can imagine. I could see myself spending a lot of time tiptoeing around old abandoned buildings. I feel weirdly at home in these places.
